Student Council
The Student Council tradition at Harlow Elementary is that of a council of students that works throughout the year with the student body, faculty and the community through various services and service projects. The Student Council is comprised of 20 to 30 4th and 5th-grade members. Students are elected through teacher recommendation, student votes, and applicant essay.
The Student Council at Harlow is a service organization. Student Council members have many opportunities to be involved with programs and activities that directly benefit the students, teachers, and community. Some of the programs include organizing and working at school activities such as “movie nights”, making the announcements/ pledges during school, collecting and organizing canned goods during canned food drives, and much more. In addition, we have monthly and sometimes bi-monthly meetings after school that students are required to attend. Each Student Council Member is encouraged to take on leadership through service to others.
